Santerno is collaborating with Fiamm, a leader in energy storage systems, at an innovative project of energy storage, which marks a leap in the technological development of Smart Grids, where Santerno leads the field. The Fiamm Energy OASIS is the concrete result.
The Fiamm Energy OASIS is a smal plant able to produce and store energy from renewable sources which is compact, transportable, delivered ready to go. For these characteristics it has been especially created to solve the problem of energy self-sufficiency in areas with no energy source or power grid. It is a pre-assembled system, housed in a container and fitted with an inverter system, which is capable of producing power from photovoltaic panels, from a telescopic wind turbine and possibly also from a small hydraulic turbine or biomass generator. The system is combined with a storage battery to accumulate some of the energy produced in order to use it in the absence or scarcity of sun and wind.
This technological solution is particularly interesting for developing countries or locations where the absence of an electricity network really makes it indispensable to find alternative solutions.
For this ecologic solution Santerno provides two different kind of single-phase inverters: Sunway M Plus and Etesian Mini. Compact and particularly reliable in guaranteeing maximum yield and perfect functioning of the PV plant, the Sunway M PLUS is extremely tough and solid, thanks to the use of high quality stainless steel materials. While Etesian Mini is the latest innovative Santerno line of inverters especially designed to satisfy demands of mini/micro wind installations.
The real strength of the Fiamm Energy OASIS project is their capacity to generate energy from renewable sources, both photovoltaic and wind, storing it thanks to ecologic batteries. Production with these systems is discontinuous as it is associated with climatic variations and the alternation of day and night. Instead, nickel sodium chloride batteries, commonly known as salt batteries, store power in large systems and release it when necessary, to create a power store that can be managed in an intelligent manner. The energy oasis, therefore, makes it possible to use power on the basis of consumption and external light and/or wind conditions, so as to create autonomous and efficient systems.
