Santerno collaborates with Fiamm, a leader in energy storage systems, at an innovative project of energy storage, which marks a leap in the technological development of Smart Grids, where Santerno leads the field.
The FIAMM Green Energy Island is a plant equipped with a sophisticated system for storing energy which makes it possible to "manage" the use of energy produced from renewable sources with significant reduction of the CO² emissions.
The plant is hooked up to the production premises grid and also to the mains. It has a peak power of 181 kW, produces 200.000 kW/year of energy from photovoltaics, equivalent to the annual consumption of 40/50 families, and has storage capacity of 230 kWh. Fiamm Green Energy Island stands on an area of 5,500 square metres of which 1.150 are occupied by solar panels. The energy island has been inaugurated thr 21st of June in Almisano (Vicenza, Italy).

Application: photovoltaic and wind power.
Advantages: this solution is a response to the problem of synchronisation between production from the renewable and the end-users to supply.
